The pressure-relieving prompt I used to get dressed this morning

I feel like I’ve been on a creative streak lately with some of my outfits — especially this one with the red pants, this one with the floral dress, this one with the green color palette, and this one with the interesting skirt. Now, however, I’m coming down and entering the dip where the ideas just aren’t flowing.

This is never fun, but it is normal. And while I would rather feel the inspiration flowing, the dip is where I get to pull out my style toolkit and really put it to use.

The tool that I used today? This pressure-relieving prompt: Put together the most boring/basic outfit possible.

Seems counterintuitive, right?

It actually works like a charm because it creates a no-fail situation. And so you succeed at it. Which feels good! That success gives you a little boost.

And who knows? Maybe that boost will spark a little creativity. But even if it doesn’t, it allows you to get dressed with ease and move on with your day.

So if you’re feeling stuck or uninspired today, take the pressure off. Give yourself a small win. <3

P.S. I got so much joy from my favorite red fleece and sneakers today. Basic looks for the win!
